| Are you the type of pilot who is only interested in
flying small aircraft on those quiet weekends with nice weather? If
so, the Recreational Pilot License may be the license for you. The
recreational license is intended for just those days when the weather
is nice and you would like to fly in the area.
What can you do with a recreational license? You are basically
allowed to take an aircraft with one other passenger up for a flight
within a short distance of the airport. The license has several
limitations which constrains it to strictly recreational use. For a
more detailed explanation of what you can and cannot do with a
recreational pilot license, please call and speak to one of our flight
instructors.
If you find that you need more freedom than what the recreational
pilot license offers, you should look into a private pilot license.
How much does a recreational pilot license cost? It will cost
between $3,000 - $3,500. This cost can vary depending on how much time
you're able to devote to your training.
Below is a detailed list of the training required for the Recreational
Pilot license:
- 17 years of age and be able to read, speak, write, and
understand the English language
