This person held a huge amount of knowledge relating to aviation. This
person was your Certified Flight Instructor. You too can become a
Certified Flight Instructor and open up the world of aviation to
people whose dream it is to fly. The Certified Flight Instructor
training program requires about 10 - 15 hours of flight instruction. A
larger amount of time will be spent in a ground school developing your teaching technique
and aviation knowledge. This technique and knowledge will then be
applied to your flying to ensure you can pass your knowledge to your
future students. You will become proficient in flying, explaining and
teaching all of the
private and commercial maneuvers from the right seat.
The average cost for the Certified Flight Instructor certificate is
between $2,000 - $3,000. The Certified Flight Instructor certificate will
require about 2 - 8 weeks of your time to complete.
Below is a detailed list of requirements for the Certified Flight
Instructor:
- 18 years of age and be able to read, speak, write and
understand the English language
- Commercial pilot license with an instrument rating
- 15 hours of pilot-in-command in the category and class of
aircraft used for the flight test
- Hold a spin endorsement
- Pass the Fundamentals of Instruction written with at least a
70%
- Pass the flight instructor aeronautical knowledge written
with at least a 70%
- Pass the practical test
